Special Ministries LOVES its amazing VOLUNTEERS!
We would not be able to achieve the span of reach and scope of services without a community of dedicated and inspiring volunteers who give both time and talent to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities.
We are a unique non-profit in that every event we host is made up of 100% volunteers. Our nurses, camp/program directors, office staff, teachers, and counselors all come together for our events to volunteer because we love it and live it.
Yes it does take real work to dream and create incredible programs with punctilious attention to quality and detail. But when the show goes on we are One Team with One Goal.
Volunteers serve in many different capacities at our various events ranging from one-on-one assistance to children or adults to being the director of fun! Volunteers are also essential to staging the many events and fundraising activities that take place throughout So Cal.
High School Volunteers: We encourage high school students to find their passion and live it out. In our fast-paced modern social society we believe that there is nothing better for a teen than to love to serve others and they do to. A survey by UCLA's Higher Education Research Institute found that two-thirds of students entering college in 2006 felt that helping others in need was essential or very important, the highest rate in 26 years.
Leadership Development
We offer a leadership development academy where Junior High Students can come & serve for a one day or week-long camp where they volunteer half the day then focus on Leadership development and physical challenges from waterfall hikes to ropes courses.

Special Ministries understands the value of involving young people. By informing and including youth, they see the value of unity in diversity. Everyone has a voice and a contribution to make.
