Special Ministries Disability and Family Services has been serving the Southern California disabled population since 1973. We will be celebrating these 38 years of service at our 1st Annual Dinner, Auction, and Jazz Concert on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, California. In the past 2 years, programs for people with disabilities have seen major fiscal cuts due to the economic downturn. Special Ministries previously received a major portion of it’s funding from the state, but unfortunately that was cut from us as well as many other organizations. Funds raised from this event will go to new program development and continuation of the activities that are already offered within this ministry.
Our desire as an organization is to serve the disabled community by providing different activities that meet the spiritual, social, and recreational needs of all participants. Every activity is meant to make each person feel loved and appreciated. Our purpose is to encourage growth, expand horizons, and enrich life.
Our goal in the upcoming years is to reach out to the rest of our community and work together to provide even more programs like a job training center and an autistic therapy space. We would like to partner with you to keep the current services going and to develop these new ones to help those with disabilities and their families.
Please consider joining us for this event. The cost is $30 per person. Invite your friends and relatives to also join us.
